Saba Introduction

Saba Group was founded in 1383, with the aim of electricity production, supply and trade. At present, this group, with 100 percent of its shares belonging to Mostazafan Foundation of the Islamic Revolution, consists of a set of eleven companies acting in the country's electric power industry. It possesses five large power plants of the country and works as one of the few private companies producing electricity in the country. In line with article 44 of the constitution and regarding transference of power stations to private sector, Saba Group purchased Shahid Medhaj Power Plant (Zargan, Ahvaz) from the government, as its first practical measure. Regarding lack of adequate experience and appropriate mechanism, this transference was very important, as it was the first one in its kind in the history of the country's electricity industry. Therefore, Saba Group can be considered as a pioneer in this field.
